List Responsibilities, Then Put Down What Is Not Yours

Doing everything yourself makes duties hard to distinguish from habitual taking over. The Ten of Wands’ load reduction begins with a responsibility list: what must be carried, what is negotiable and what was never clearly assigned.

You have been busy all day yet cannot explain why everything ends up with you. Write down what you are carrying before deciding where to work harder.

Noa Lin suggests marking each item’s source: formal duty, temporary agreement or taking over on seeing a gap. The Ten of Wands’ bundle needs distinguishing staff by staff.

For work that can be transferred, explain its current state, required steps and handover timing. Merely saying “I quit” may leave confusion; clear handover can actually change the division of work.

If nobody can take over yet, propose reducing scope or postponement rather than privately continuing everything. When resources are insufficient, task scope needs adjustment too.

Schedule a specific restorative activity in the freed time instead of immediately filling it with new tasks. Carrying fewer staffs is for seeing the road again, not proving you can carry more.
