To Express Your Feelings, Choose an Action the Other Person Can Answer

Long-nurtured feelings can remain in imagination. With the Knight of Cups, make expression one clear, proportionate action and leave space for different responses, so gentleness is more than an expectation.

You have rehearsed many times in your head yet still have not said the sentence you want to say. First ask whether expression aims to share feelings or make the other person decide immediately.

Noa Lin suggests choosing an action proportionate to the current relationship. The Knight of Cups carries one cup, not a promise covering every future.

Be specific: thank them for spending time with you or suggest meeting once. Do not leave hints for them to decipher or create pressure for an answer through a grand gesture.

The other person may welcome it, hesitate or refuse. Think beforehand about respecting these responses, so expression does not turn gentleness into a condition of exchange.

After acting, care for your emotions without repeatedly questioning them to erase uncertainty. Expressing your feelings is the part you can complete; receiving them remains the other person’s choice.
